Logo Literature, science fiction, and the fringe

Fiasco (1986)

by Stanisław Lem

A primarily tedious if at times thought-provoking read. Starts with a stellar standalone short story. As for the rest of the novel: the setting, the characters, and their actions are all contrived to allow Lem to explore a technopsychological first contact thought experiment that for me fell flat.
